Jan Terri
She's got a lisp and a leather jacket and she's not afraid to abuse them. Native Chicagonian, Jan Terri is rumored to have earned her local-celebrityism while working for a limo service where she passed [VHS] copies of her music videos to clients. This gained her somewhat of a cult-following after the videos were passed around offices and small business. Having received her degree in broadcast communications and arts and entertainment management (1983), she released two full-length albums in the mid nineties. Losing You (music video below) was featured on her debut album Baby Blues.
After receiving a teddy bear in a press kit promoting Baby Blues, Marilyn Manson requested she play a surprise party for then-girlfriend Rose McGowen which eventually led her to opening act at one of his shows.
For a little over a decade, Jan Terri fell off the map but December 2011, a much older, haggard looking Jan Terri reappeared with a new video Excuse My Christmas. The track comes from her third album The Wild One that she claims was completed in 1997 but delayed releasing due to complications with her mother's health.
In a July 2011 interview, Jan Terri told A.V. Chicago she planned on releasing her third and fourth album together to appease her fans but she would remain retired.
